enough about twitter, already
all i’ve been reading for the past 9 months or so is “how to succeed on twitter”, “how to get more followers on twitter”, “how to optimize your use of twitter”, enough already. really.
we all get (well most of us, i hope) that twitter is great, brilliant, and just what we’ve been wanting for a really long time. most of us (hopefully) get how to use twitter, and by now, we’ve got a pretty good handle on it.
while i am a huge twitter fan and advocate, i also realize that it’s a bit of a trend. by no means do i have intentions of dropping it for the next-best-thing that comes along (i love it far too much); but i acknowledge the fact that right now, twitter is the “it thing” and that it might not stick around as the “it thing” forever.
before we know it, something else is going to come along, sweep all of us techie web nerds off our feet and then everyone will be blogging about it.
i just figured i’d rant a little bit. i’m tired about reading about how to tweet. the beauty of twitter is it’s overwhelmingly understated simplicity – “what are you doing?”… how much more self-explanatory can it get?
so, go ahead. write your post about twitter, get it out of your system, and start finding more innovative, interesting things to blog and tweet about. look at the big picture, not just the single application that is the here and now.
